Common medical malpractices:
A medical malpractice suit can be placed on a medical doctor, nurse or any other medical practitioner that has been trusted with the care of a patient and violated that trust. Although medical errors are not as common as they could be, there certainly are a high number of cases in existence, most of which could and should have been prevented.A malpractice case typically requires an attorney to file suit on behalf of a client, and of course there are large sums of money involved. This is not a blog dedicated to attacking medical professionals, rather than a blog dedicated to the common mistakes. We want people to be proactive and aware of the potentially harmful situations that exist so you can prevent anything bad for you, your family, and your loved ones as well as ours!
After a bit of research and a little homework it looks the United States actually LACKS a "patients bill of rights" which would basically consist of the standard rights of patients when being treated by a medical professional or a medical facility. We found an article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/U.S._patients'_bill_of_rights on Wikipedia (wikipedia) that explained the attempts and struggles of creating this "patients bill of rights"
Without feeding too much into any facts or bias' regarding the topic it does seem that there should be SOMETHING that dictates a standard. The argument seems to be that there is an opposition to any such bill and most of the arguments tend to be based around finances....
In the meantime there are constantly new medicines hitting the marketing, nursing home abuse, contagious diseases, harmful virus', and anti-bacterial resistant infections crawling through these multi billion dollar facilities. The patient is the one who suffers the consequences that nobody will appreciate until they experience.
It's not likely that a logical system will be in place soon. There are far too many financial interests interfering with common sense when it comes to medical practices. Until we do have some safety and security we hope that our articles and link will shed some light on these issues and maybe save a few lives as well!
